| Customer Reviews: Excellent chain, but expensive January 11, 2010 Casey Anderson (Washington, DC United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have tried a couple of the lower-priced SRAM chains, and I have experienced problems with shifting, cassette wear, etc. I have been using the 991 on a mountain bike and a touring bike for about 6 months, and I have not had these problems with either bike. I also have found the Shimano HG-93 chain (XT level) reliable but like the powerlink system used by SRAM, which allows you to take the chain off for cleaning and put it back on without a new link pin or chain tool.
991 vs. 991 Cross-step July 13, 2009 Jeremy N. Shank (Richmond, VA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've noticed no performance difference between the two. In the future, I'll likely stick with the lower priced 991.
