Product Description By adding the Thudbuster LT rear suspension you'll ride faster, longer, and stronger with better traction, more control, and less fatigue. The performance, relative low weight, and simplicity make it the best suspension upgrade you can make to your hardtail. Based on a patented parallel-linkage design, the Thudbuster LT provides up to 3 inches of active stiction-free travel. Unlike telescoping suspension posts, there is no initial stiction to overcomethe suspension mechanism works in the direct path of the natural travel of the rear wheel. The elastomers provide the compression and rebound damping, and can be easily exchanged to tune the suspension. maximum rider weight: 250 lbs. extension: minimum: 142mm. extension: maximum 300 mm (346 mm 27.2 xl version).

| Customer Reviews: Best of all the Suspension Seat-Posts! July 8, 2008 David Baltazar (SAN JOSE, CA United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This review is from; Cane Creek Thudbuster LT Suspension Mountain Bike Seatpost
Suspension seat-posts has always been a popular upgrade for riders with hard-tail MTB's. After trying a couple of telescopic, suspension seat-posts including the Rock Shox post, I finally found a permanent post for my hard-tail which is the Cane Creek Thudbuster. The natural, pivot motion of the post simply made my most rugged trails more bearable and comfortable on trail sections where I would normally stand through. My only concern about the post is the single, slender steel bolt that holds the whole thing together. So far, it is still holding (had this post for more than 3 years), but I'm going to get a similar style & size brass bolt a precautionary back-up because the replacement bolts from Cane Creek costs about $8 without shipping. Otherwise this is a great, suspension seat-post that easily outperforms any telescopic posts for any hard-tail riders.
Better than expected. June 9, 2010 Marc A. Garoutte (Auburn, Wa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a fantastic product. I did find that when I set the "spring rate" according to the included chart there was very little suspension compliance or travel (better than none though). When I dropped down to the next lower rider weight setting it soaked up all minor single track trail rubbish and small bumps on the road while still being able to absorb bigger hits from bigger roots, rocks, ect... setting it up this way will only work if you have a very smooth pedaling style and if you just mash the pedals you will find yourself "bobbing" and maybe that is why Cane Creek recommends a more firmer setting in the instructions.
I found that I was able to remain seated and pedaling strong thus making me much faster over the same trail segments. In fact this was so awesome that I bought my first full suspension cross country MTB. The Thudbuster now sees daily duty on my touring/commuter bike and has made the miles glide along without any fatigue.

I purchased this Mountain Bike suspension seatpost to combine the high performance of my new carbon frame bike, with minimum comfort for my old vertebras (I am over 50 :). The result is far above my expectations, and I can ride for hours without pain!
Just try it!!!!

I ride bumpy paved to unpaved service roads, and this seat post does smooth out the ruts. I weigh about 225 lbs, and the two dark rubber shock pads (included) work well for me. It will bounce a little if you sit while climbing hills, or during a fast cadence/spin. You can reduce the bounce by sitting back a little further in the saddle or shifting during a fast spin. It's light enough to not notice any extra weight swinging back and forth when climbing on your pedals. I like it.
