Wonderful product! March 16, 2008 Sean Dicken (San Francisco, CA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought the 1 1/8" black Delta Stem Raiser for my commuter bike as soon as I discovered it's existence- I've been commuting to work on my bike for years, and I always wished that my handlebars were a little bit higher but only recently decided to do something about it.
Installation was simple, and I only had one problem- I didn't have an allen wrench in my toolkit long enough to reach down inside of the raiser tube to tighten the center bolt and had to run out and buy one (I was surprised that it wasn't bundled with one).
My bike is way more comfortable now- it's amazing what a difference a few inches will make! Highly recommended.

excellent product, very well made, performed exactly as advertised. Worth every penny, would buy again. Before using make sure you have adequate cable length.
This really saves the hands and wrists and wrists if you are tall April 25, 2008 Brian Harris (Al. USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this item for my 08 Cannondale F6 hardtail. It fit fine, it is extremely strong, and it totally transformed the riding position of the bike. It did not make it into a beach cruiser as some would speculate but instead made the riding position still a forward lean but not so extreme. Without this extension my hands and wrists were under extreme stress while riding off-road to the point where I had to stop every few minutes to rest from the pain. Now I can ride all day without a problem from my hands or wrists (legs are another story). I would highly recommend it for the other tall guys of the world who want to ride a mountain bike.
Saved my bike! November 25, 2009 chuanha1 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had an old hybrid bike that I had not used in years because it hurt my wrists to ride it. Adding two inches to the stem with this product made all the difference. I can ride the bike again comfortably because more of my weight is on the seat, less on the handlebars. The quality of this product is about as good as it could be; it's strong but light.
I've read that many road and hybrid bikes have a frame geometry designed for racing, even though they're sold to consumers for recreation or commuting. Especially for tall riders, the typical riding position, crouched over handlebars that are level with the seat, is hard on your wrists. So this product makes the bike fit the way it should have in the first place.
Installation takes a little skill. When you remove the top bolt in your old stem, that will loosen the whole stem assembly (which contains bearings). Put on the extender and push down on the whole stem assembly while tightening the bolt inside. You'll need a long hex key, or a 3/16 flat head screwdriver will also fit the bolt. Then tighten the side bolts. If you can feel the stem/fork move when you lean on the front brakes, it isn't tight enough.
Exactly what my GMC Topkick needed. April 16, 2010 K. Ruettiger 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I needed to raise the stem on my GMC Topkick Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike so that I could attach the iBert Safe-T Front Mounted Child Bicycle Seat. It was simple to setup and worked beautifully. I had never owned a bike with a threadless stem before so I was a little confused, but after some googling and reading amazon reviews I decided on this product and I have no regrets.
